CO3
About the project
Trans.eu is one of the biggest freight exchanges in Europe. Every day the exchange connects thousands of carriers, shippers, and forwarders to transport cargoes all over the continent.Trans.eu decided to cooperate with CO3 in order to improve one of its functionalities. CO³ is a startup founded by industry experts that helps companies to access and use real-time data from road freight. CO³ connects to the onboard computers of trucks and trailers to communicate transport data to all supply chain participants and help companies cooperate digitally.
Challenges
The trans.eu platform provides functionality for monitoring haulage and vehicles using external telematics providers (geographical coordinates of vehicle locations). So far, the introduction of the platform users to using this functionality consisted in direct phone and e-mail support. This was to effectively familiarize users with the configuration of the vehicle fleet and location (onboarding). This required devoting a lot of staff time and generated high costs. Therefore the main objective of the project was to reduce costs by integrating an external provider (CO3) and outsourcing onboarding.
Solutions
CO3 offers integration of many different telematics providers. The task of our team was to prepare a solution integrating the trans.eu platform with the software provided by CO3.

Results
Thanks to a universal solution, each new telematics service available in CO3 will also be available for the users of the trans.eu platform. This means that users have access to freight and vehicle monitoring through an integrated telematics provider without having to wait for additional time-consuming integrations. Additionally, an external provider performs the onboarding process. Afterwards, a platform user has access to the haulage and vehicle location without any additional configuration.
